Philly Food Truck Festival

April 21, 2024

The other day I reached out to some Philly friends of mine and asked if they wanted to get together and do something. One of them heard that the StrEAT Food Truck Festival in Manayunk was going to be happening this weekend and suggested we all go. Sounded interesting and fun, plus any reason to link up with some friends is enough reason to agree. It's been about a month since I photographed the Fragadelphia event and I've been really hungry to shoot another event. Actually, to be honest, I've really just been looking for any excuse to take my camera out and a street event seemed perfect. Anywhere I can go and find a variety of people doing anything interesting sounds like a really fun place to photograph. I made sure my battery was full, loaded up the sling, picked my favorite lens (70-200mm SIGMA of course), and was off.

Now the thing is, I sort of trolled a bit with this one. I went to a food festival, and I didn't take a single food picture...

Like come on, how do miss the mark that hard? I've even been thinking about dipping my toes in product photography and this could've been the perfect chance to get some practice, but nope. Didn't even cross my mind until now. Oh well though I suppose. Even though I fumbled on some potentially great photo opportunities, I still managed to come across some interesting people doing some interesting things. Ultimately my only "goal" was to have fun, and hanging out with my friends, eating some great food, and getting the chance to photograph some interesting moments made it easy. Definitely looking forward to being able to get out to more local community events because even if I'm not able to get any good photos, then at least I'll be able to have a little fun.
